A Chronicle of Spine Surgeries and Unforeseen Twists
When the medical team ( at the Cancer Center) recommended a second spine surgery, this time targeting the lower part, I hesitated for two crucial reasons. Firstly, both physically and mentally, I wasn't prepared, especially considering my challenging experience with the initial spine surgery. Secondly, the doctors were pressing me to proceed hastily, providing no information about the surgery and expecting me to go under the knife the very next day in a public hospital. Unwilling to comply, I insisted on being discharged from the center. Choosing to retreat to my home for a week of rest and contemplation, one week stretched into two, and two into two months. Enduring excruciating pain and mental anguish during this time, I finally resolved that the surgery was the only viable solution, especially after seeking counsel from two additional neurologist surgeons.
